Communications Focal Point (CFP) Lead

JOB TITLE: Communications Focal Point (CFP) Lead




JOB SUMMARY: Provides CFP management and leadership support for the 10th Communications Squadron on the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA).


PRIMARY DUTIES: Reports to the program director. Given overall objectives and resource limitations, works independently to complete all assignments. Performs supervisory personnel management functions. Plans and revises CFP personnel schedules to ensure an even flow of work. Ensures expeditious handling of priority work while meeting deadlines and procedures as outlined in the performance work statement (PWS). Ensures sufficient equipment and supplies are on hand to accomplish all work. Assigns work based on performance requirements and employee capabilities. Reviews work, gives advice, counsels, and instructs employees and provides corrective actions if necessary. Listens to and resolves employee issues and directs unresolved problems to the program director. Identifies developmental and training needs for all CFP employees. Develops and provides CFP budget inputs for daily and long-range requirement planning. Ensures all applicable PWS requirements are met in a timely manner. Completes other CFP and contract duties as assigned.  


SECONDARY DUTIES: Works independently, assigns tasks, and/or leads a technical team to provide scheduled and unscheduled CFP support. Writes and speaks clearly while making concise oral and written presentations as requested. Maintains technological standards and investigates and promotes new technologies for use by Team DMI and USAFA. Oversees CFP workload control, the 10th Comm Squadron’s preventative maintenance inspection program, all 10th Communications Squadron scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and inputs CFP data into multiple Government-provided databases. These databases include but are not limited to the Work Order Management System (WOMS), Remedy, Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS), the Asset Inventory Management (AIM) system. Provides on-call/after-hours support as defined in the PWS. Provides support to other contract work centers in cases of manpower shortages or unexpected requirements.      


EXPERIENCE: Ten years of Air Force Communications Squadron technical/supervisory experience in telecommunications, comm-electronics maintenance, or network operations.  


EDUCATION: A Bachelor of Science degree in a communications related career field is desirable. Equivalent experience can be used as a substitution for this degree.   


REQUIREMENTS: A SECRET security clearance is required. A SEC+ certification is desirable.
