Job Summary:

A member of a six person technical engineering/support team serving the enterprise Executive Airlift Communications Network (EACN) at Scott AFB, IL. Perform Network Administration functions for EACN which includes Telecom/Voice Administration, Servers/Storage Systems Administration (physical and virtual), IA Administration, systems/component troubleshooting, upgrades and documentation. Monitor all systems associated with EACN and A2G2 in real time and respond to tier 1-3 trouble-calls from customers both internal and external. Work in a high visibility environment supporting senior and executive level customers in multilevel secured environment.

This individual assists in the design, development, implementation, and conduct of data gathering and reporting methods and procedures. May recommend procedural changes to improve efficiency of operations. Functions independently as a technical coordinator regarding the needs and requirements of customer issues. Performs collection and distribution of IT hardware, may perform basic set-up of devices like monitors, UPS battery back-ups, power strips, etc. Assists with computer equipment/systems and trouble-shooting problems. Demonstrated experience with various GOTS/COTS software/hardware and network products (to include Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Crypto Devices and Multiplexers); good working knowledge of Windows 2003 and above, MS Office 2010, SharePoint and other office automation products. Good oral and written communication skills; ability to react professionally to customer issues and formulate rapid resolution; demonstrated ability to apply standard trouble shooting techniques in support of rapid resolution; highly knowledgeable of IT operations, platforms, functions and terminology; mastery of desktop systems; solid understanding of IT hardware and network services (Active Directory, software installation) and ability to accurately log trouble ticket issues and resolution.

Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software, provide support to higher headquarters in computer network connectivity, work with multiple work centers to produce local solutions to unique network issues, notify customers and work toward correcting network outages and provide all service to customers daily.              

Provide 24x7x365 customer support. Support includes troubleshooting, repairing/replacing, configuring, monitoring and upgrading of network infrastructure, (LAN/WAN) operating systems and computer data exchange requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2-5 Years’ Experience as Network Administrator
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • DoD 8570.01 - Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification
  • Experience with Cisco routers and switches
