Information Systems Security Manager

Location:   Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas

Clearance:   Top Secret with /SCI

DoD 8570 Certification Requirements: IAM-I-III


Position Summary:

The Information System Security Manager (ISSM) leads a team of security professionals to ensure that Approval to Connect (ATC) and/or Authorization to Operate (ATO) are granted and remain current for US Air Force cyber weapon systems. Authorization types required are Risk Management Framework (RMF) and/or ICD 503.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a formal Information Systems security program for their assigned weapon system or supporting system
  • Oversee ISSOs under their purview to ensure they follow established policies and procedures
  • Ensure US Air Force cyber weapon systems and ancillary systems/networks are Authorized
  • Participate in Configuration Control Boards for US Air Force cyber weapon systems and ancillary systems/networks
  • Provide inputs to deficiency assessments and Plans of Action and Milestone (POAMs)
  • Provide written inputs and or comments to draft documentation required for A&A

 Background and Experiences:

  • 2+ years of DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and/or DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) experience
  • 10+ years of recent Enclave Environment IA management experience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate in a clear speaking voice as well as the ability to respond clearly to questions
  • Aptitude to address negative situations, and resolve them in a positive manner
