Job Summary

Oversees AFIN system monitoring, change and incident management activities. Provides recommendations regarding change and configuration management practices. Provides senior level support resolving system/network issues.  Responsible for system administration of assigned duty areas.  Leads other system administrators, directing and evaluating their activities.  Ensures long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software. Implements operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.   Performs supervisory duties as needed.  Administering, maintaining, backing-up, restoring and providing system operational support for enterprise infrastructure health monitoring tools (e.g., Solarwinds and EMC Smarts/IONIX), enterprise server and application tools (e.g., NetIQ App Manager, Microsoft, VMware and Quest products), aggregated monitoring environments (e.g., NetCool/NetCop, or current AF tools), Web, SharePoint, SQL and Microsoft Internet Information Server (MIIS) environments, Service management (ITIL) environments (e.g., Remedy, or current AF tools)

o   installing hardware and software

o   integrating systems

o   conducting patch and account management

o   troubleshooting and resolving incidents

o   testing and implementing solutions

o   auditing, recording and tracking change and incident activities

o   creating trending reports

o   creating functional and security procedures and system documentation

o   configuring system files and services

Minimum Requirements:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • 6 Years’ Experience as Senior System Administrator and/or similar IT role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field
  • Must possess current DoD 8570.01 certification - Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification or higher (i.e. Security+ certification)
  • MCSA SQL Server 2012 /Windows Server 2012
  • SolarWinds Certified Professional
