Job Summary

 

·Must be able to apply the process of problem control, error control, the proactive prevention of problems, identify trends, obtain management information from Problem Management data, and completion of major incident or problem reviews.

·Analyses incidents and problems to proactively prevent the occurrence of further incidents and problems.

·Lead the investigation of problems, via a root cause analysis (e.g. following on from major incidents) or through proactive trend analysis and monitoring

·Reduce the adverse impact of incidents and problems that are caused by errors within the IT infrastructure, and to prevent recurrence of incidents related to these errors.

·Minimize both the number and severity of incidents and potential problems to the organization

· Ensure that incident information is documented in such a way that it is readily available to support all problem management activities. Log, monitor and track the progress of the problem

·Must be able to use analysis techniques to identify the cause of the problem.

·Must have excellent written and verbal skills to interact with customers

·Ensure that changes and releases are initiated appropriately in response to problems

·Ensure timely and appropriate communication with involved parties.

·Address problems in priority order with higher priority given to the resolution of problems that can cause serious disruption to critical IT services.

·Initiate actions to improve and correct the situation – error control

·Actively prevent the replication of problems across multiple systems

 

Required Skills/Education:

 

· Familiarity/experience with ITIL Service Desk, Incident Management, Problem Management processes

 

· Extensive knowledge of AF Networks

 

· HS Diploma/GED or higher

 

·Must possess a current DoD 8570 certification Information Assurance Management (IAM) II CAP/CASP CE/CISM/CISSP/GSLC

 

·ITIL Foundation

 

·ITIL Intermediate Service Transition
